The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has uncovered six post-dated cheques linked to a mafia group accused of selling leaked NEET-UG 2024 question papers. Investigators believe over ₹30 lakh was charged per candidate. The cheques were recovered during a probe involving 13 arrests, including examinees and family members. Evidence suggests candidates received question papers and answers at a Patna safe house prior to the May 5 exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is yet to provide reference papers for forensic analysis of partially burnt documents found at the site. Calls for a Supreme Court-monitored investigation continue amidst government denials of a leak.
