Over 1,200 tourists, including 15 foreigners, have been stranded in Sikkim’s Mangan district due to heavy rains disrupting roads and communication. The evacuation from Lachung may begin Sunday if weather permits, according to officials. Tourism Secretary C S Rao confirmed the tourists have been stuck for a week. Six people have died due to landslides and rain, with power and food supplies also affected. The district administration has provided Rs 4 lakh to each of the deceased's families. Efforts will be coordinated by Tourism Minister Tshering Thendup Bhutia.
