A fierce encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Abhujmad forest resulted in the death of a jawan and the elimination of eight Naxalites on Saturday. The clash, which started this morning, involved a joint anti-Naxal operation by security forces from Narayanpur, Kanker, Dantewada, and Kondagaon districts. Two other security personnel were injured. The operation, comprising the District Reserve Guard, Special Task Force, and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, was initiated on June 12 and is ongoing.
