Faizan Ahmed, a 23-year-old third-year student from Assam at IIT Kharagpur, was found dead in October 2022 in a room at Lala Lajpat Rai Hostel. Gupta conducted the second post-mortem examination following a petition by Ahmed's family to the Calcutta High Court.
