The Rajasthan government has launched an investigation into popular spice brands after samples tested positive for high levels of pesticides and insecticides. The state government has written to the FSSAI and governments of Gujarat and Haryana to take action against the erring brands. A special campaign collected 93 samples from various companies, including MDH, Everest, and Gajanand, which tested positive for harmful chemicals. Commissioner Food Safety and Drug Control, Iqbal Khan, warned that the high quantities of pesticides and insecticides found in the samples are harmful to health. The government is taking steps to ensure the safety of consumers.
