Four shops owned by members of the Hmar-Kuki-Zomi tribes were set on fire in Jiribam, sparking fresh tension in the region. The Indigenous Tribes Advocacy Committee (ITAC) alleged that the Meitei armed group Arambai Tenggol was responsible for the attack. The committee demanded immediate arrest and punishment of the perpetrators. The burned shops were located in Hmar Veng and Kalinagar areas, and the ITAC urged authorities to provide 24-hour protection to areas inhabited by tribal communities, fearing further destruction and theft. The incident highlights the ongoing tensions between tribal groups in the region.
