The Central government has informed the Supreme Court that candidates who got less time to write the NEET 2024 exam will have the option to re-take the test or forgo grace marks. This comes amid controversy over alleged malpractices and irregularities in the exam. All 1,563 affected candidates will be given the option to re-test, which will cancel their earlier score. If they choose not to re-test, their original score will remain but without grace marks. The move aims to address concerns over the "arbitrary" award of grace marks that led to a surge in top scorers.
