A devastating fire broke out early Wednesday in a building housing workers in Mangaf, Kuwait, killing 40 Indian nationals and injuring over 30. The blaze, which started in the kitchen of the six-storey structure, led to a rapid spread, overwhelming residents with smoke. The building, rented by NBTC, accommodated around 160 workers. Kuwaiti authorities are investigating the cause, suspecting overcrowding as a contributing factor. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed condolences and pledged support for the affected. An emergency helpline has been established by the Indian Embassy in Kuwait for assistance.
