The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has arrested a Vietnamese national at Delhi's IGI Airport for attempting to smuggle prohibited red sandalwood worth Rs 25 lakh. The suspect was detected through behavior detection and surveillance at the check-in area. His baggage was found to contain two logs of red sandalwood, concealed inside his check-in baggage. The logs were confirmed to be red sandalwood by forest officials. The passenger was arrested and the contraband was seized. This is a significant catch, as red sandalwood is a protected species and its trade is illegal.
