Five Naxalites were killed and three jawans injured in a gunfight in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district on Friday. The clash occurred in the Orchha area, involving a joint team from the District Reserve Guard and the 45th battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. Bodies of five Naxalites and some weapons were recovered. This year, 122 Naxalites have been killed in various encounters in the state. Recent operations saw seven Naxalites killed on May 23 and twelve on May 10. Further details of the encounter are awaited.
