Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) posted a commanding 221/5 against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their IPL 2025 match. RCB stars Virat Kohli (67) and skipper Rajat Patidar (64) led the charge with fluent half-centuries, while Devdutt Padikkal and Jitesh Sharma added quick cameos. Mumbai Indians’ pace ace Jasprit Bumrah, returning to competitive cricket, struggled for impact, finishing wicketless with figures of 0/29 in four overs. Despite his economic bowling, Bumrah couldn't break RCB's momentum. RCB's strong batting performance now puts pressure on MI to chase a steep target at home. The clash remains crucial in the IPL 2025 points table. (PC: X/@IPL)

A mother dog named Shakti in Mumbai’s Aarey Colony was caught on CCTV being dragged away by a leopard in front of her 10 puppies. Miraculously, she escaped the predator and returned, injured, to feed her pups. Despite a torn neck and a punctured food pipe, Shakti's maternal instinct prevailed. She was rescued by the NGO World For All and underwent surgery at Top Dogs Pet Clinic in Andheri. Tribal residents are caring for her puppies. “Food was dripping from her neck wound,” said Dr Makarand Chousalkar. Her bravery has gone viral online, earning widespread admiration and support. Wall Street indices plunged Monday as President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariff policies sparked fears of a looming recession. The S&P 500 fell over 20% from its February peak, entering official bear market territory, while Dow Jones dropped 1,212 points and Nasdaq slid 4%. Though a brief recovery followed reports Trump may pause tariffs for 90 days — excluding China — the White House later denied such claims. Major tech stocks like Apple and Nvidia suffered steep losses. Analysts say Trump’s firm stance on the trade gap with China is intensifying market uncertainty and increasing recession risk across global financial markets. (PC: India Today)

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the UK-based luxury carmaker owned by India’s Tata Motors, announced a one-month pause in vehicle shipments to the US following President Donald Trump’s new 25% import tariff. “As we work to address the new trading terms with our business partners… we are taking some short-term actions,” the company said. JLR emphasized the importance of the US market, which accounts for 25% of its sales. Trump’s tariff plan includes a 10% baseline on all imports and customized tariffs for countries with steep duties on US goods. JLR is now reassessing its mid- to long-term strategy. (PC: Reuters)

Suchir Balaji, the 28-year-old Big Tech whistleblower, was found dead in California with two gunshot wounds to his head. Though authorities labelled it a suicide, his parents insist it was murder. “How can someone shoot themselves twice in the head?” asked his father, adding, “The second bullet missed. That’s clear in the autopsy.” Balaji, who had reportedly raised concerns over artificial intelligence practices, particularly at OpenAI, had returned from India just weeks before his death. His family alleges his knowledge made him a target. U.S. police continue to investigate the case, but his parents are demanding a deeper federal probe. (PC: LinkedIn)

Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are set to clash in a blockbuster IPL 2025 match at Wankhede. Bumrah, returning from a 4-month injury break, will lead Mumbai Indians’ bowling attack against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Shane Watson, now a JioStar expert, believes Bumrah might struggle initially due to match rustiness, giving Kohli an edge. Kohli was dismissed by Bumrah for just 3 runs in their last IPL 2024 encounter. Meanwhile, Watson expressed confidence that Chennai Super Kings will bounce back under young captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, despite their poor start this season with 3 losses in 4 matches. Stock markets in Asia and Europe crashed on Monday after China responded to U.S. tariffs with its own trade measures. Analysts described the crash as “historic” and a “bloodbath,” comparing it to past market collapses. The drop reminded investors of the 2008 financial crisis, the 2020 pandemic crash, and the 1929 Great Depression. Major stock indexes fell sharply as panic spread. Experts say the market reaction was triggered by fears of an economic slowdown. Governments and central banks are now monitoring the situation closely to prevent further financial instability.
