Authorities are investigating the mysterious deaths of Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 65, found in their Santa Fe, New Mexico, home. Maintenance workers discovered the couple, who had not been heard from in about two weeks, alongside one of their three German Shepherds. Hackman was found in the mudroom, appearing to have fallen suddenly, while Arakawa was in a bathroom near an open prescription bottle with scattered pills. No external trauma or signs of foul play were observed. Carbon monoxide poisoning has been ruled out. Autopsies and toxicology tests are pending, with results expected in up to three months.

As per a new rule under the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act, 2023, individuals born on or after October 1, 2023, must provide a birth certificate to obtain essential documents like a passport, Aadhaar, voter ID, and driving license. Operations have entered the seventh day to rescue workers trapped in a collapsed tunnel in Nagarkurnool, Telangana. India’s South Central Railway has deployed experts and heavy equipment, including plasma cutters and debris removal machinery, to speed up the search. The collapse occurred on February 22 due to a sudden inflow of water and soil. While 42 workers escaped, there has been no response from those still trapped.
