Chinese companies are shifting factories to Cambodia to escape U.S. tariffs. A "Special Economic Zone" south of Phnom Penh is rapidly expanding, with businesses moving in to avoid extra costs on goods made in China.   Experts say these companies are following trade rules, but Cambodia could face risks if U.S. policies change. Factory owner Mr. Huang, who supplies Walmart and Costco, fears Cambodia might be next in Trump's tariff plans. With new tariffs set to take effect, more Chinese firms are rushing to relocate, believing Southeast Asia is the future for manufacturing.

The Royal Navy tracked a Russian warship, Boikiy, as it sailed near British waters. HMS Somerset followed the corvette for three days through the North Sea and English Channel. The Russian ship was escorting a merchant vessel, Baltic Leader, back to Russia from Syria.   A Merlin helicopter and NATO forces assisted in monitoring. Reports say the Russian ship’s crew burned papers and manned machine guns. The UK has sanctioned Baltic Leader’s owner for links to Russian military activities. The Royal Navy called the operation routine but remains watchful of Russian movements near Europe.

US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose reciprocal tariffs on India from April 2. In response, India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said India and the US have had a “very open conversation” about trade.   Speaking in London, Jaishankar said, “What we saw was expected… I am a little surprised that people are surprised.” He added that India has no issues with recent American presidents and sees opportunities in the US approach to trade and technology. The two countries are working on a trade agreement, with India’s Trade Minister currently in the US.

US President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discussed trade and fentanyl smuggling in a tense call. After Trump imposed new tariffs on Canadian imports, Canada hit back with its own.   Trudeau asked Trump to reconsider, but Trump said, “Nothing has convinced me that fentanyl smuggling has stopped.” He also claimed Trudeau was using the dispute to stay in power, adding, “Good luck, Justin!”   Trudeau’s government refused to lift Canada’s tariffs unless the US removes theirs. Canada’s Liberal Party will soon choose Trudeau’s successor after he announced his resignation.

New Zealand beat South Africa by 50 runs in the second semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Batting first in Lahore, New Zealand posted 362/6. Kane Williamson (102) and Rachin Ravindra (108) led the charge with centuries. South Africa started well while chasing 363, but they lost wickets in the middle overs. David Miller scored a century off the last ball, but it was not enough. Kagiso Rabada’s dismissal sealed South Africa’s fate. New Zealand will face India in the final on March 9 in Dubai.

The US has stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine that could help target locations inside Russia, a Ukrainian source told Sky News. However, intelligence-sharing has not ceased entirely, with selective information still provided for strikes on Russian-occupied Ukrainian territory. The move follows Donald Trump's decision to pause all military aid to Ukraine after tensions with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The development marks a setback for Kyiv as it battles Russian forces. A Hong Kong-based firm, CK Hutchison, has agreed to sell its majority stake in two key Panama Canal ports to a BlackRock-led group in a $22.8B deal. The deal involves 43 ports globally but requires Panamanian approval. Panama, which took full control of the canal in 1999, rejects US claims, with President Mulino reaffirming its sovereignty. CK Hutchison insists the sale is purely commercial. BlackRock, alongside Swiss firm Terminal Investment Limited, will assume ownership amid ongoing geopolitical tensions over control of the vital trade route.
