The Karnataka Cabinet has approved a bill mandating 100% reservation for Kannadigas in private sector Group C and D posts. The bill also directs 50% of management positions and 75% of non-management positions to be filled by local candidates. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced the elevation of Justices N Kotiswar Singh and R Mahadevan to the Supreme Court on Tuesday. A tragic incident occurred at Khair police station in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. A mother, Hemlata, was set on fire by her son, Gaurav, inside the police station. 4 Army personnel, including Captain Brijesh Thapa, died in a gunfight with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district.
