A Class 12 student, Aryan Mishra, was shot dead near Faridabad, Haryana, after being mistaken for a cattle smuggler by a cow vigilante group. On August 23, Aryan and his friends were chased for 30 km by five vigilantes who received a tip about cattle smugglers in the area. Despite warnings to stop, Aryan's friends continued driving due to a separate feud, leading the vigilantes to open fire. Aryan, seated in the passenger seat, was shot twice.
