Fortunately, there were no reported casualties from the recent series of earthquakes.

As summer grips India, West Bengal braces for intense heatwaves. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for several districts, including Jhargram, East Midnapore, and West Burdwan, from April 19 to April 23. Schools in West Bengal have announced an early summer break due to rising temperatures. Maximum temperatures are expected to soar. The IMD advises residents to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak hours, and take necessary precautions. Orange alerts are in place for South Bengal districts like Kolkata and Nadia. Authorities urge vigilance and preparedness for the adverse weather conditions.

Normal life in Himachal Pradesh faced disruption as snowfall hit higher altitudes and rain lashed mid and lower hills, leading to the closure of 104 roads and three national highways. Vehicular movement to Keylong was halted due to a major landslide on the Manali-Keylong highway. The Border Roads Organisation is working to clear the blockades.
