The Boeing 777-300 ER, with a capacity of 342 passengers, experienced a technical issue when nine out of its 10 lavatories became clogged. Passengers endured the long flight with no bathroom access before the airline decided to turn the aircraft around. The airline confirmed the return and assured passengers of accommodation and alternative arrangements to continue their journey.

The trio had been missing since March 5 after attending a wedding in Marhoon village. Union Minister Jitendra Singh condemned the incident, labeling it a terrorist attack aimed at disrupting regional peace. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha ordered an investigation, assuring that the perpetrators would be swiftly brought to justice. The incident has sparked protests in Billawar town, leading to heightened security measures. If confirmed as a terrorist act, this would be the deadliest civilian attack in the Jammu region since June 2024. 

Balesh Dhankhar, a prominent Indian-Australian community leader, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison by an Australian court for the premeditated rapes of five Korean women. The Downing Centre District Court imposed a non-parole period of 30 years on March 7. Dhankhar, a former IT consultant, lured victims aged 21 to 27 through fake job ads, drugging and assaulting them in Sydney. Found guilty of 39 offenses, including 13 counts of rape, his crimes were deemed manipulative and highly predatory. Dhankhar previously led a BJP-linked group and served as a Hindu Council spokesperson before his 2018 arrest.  

On March 10, 2025, Punjab Police apprehended Shehnaz Singh, also known as Shawn Bhinder, a transnational drug trafficker wanted by the FBI for his involvement in a global narcotics syndicate. Singh was a key figure in smuggling cocaine from Colombia into the United States and Canada. Following a U.S. operation on February 26 that resulted in the arrest of his associates and the seizure of 391 kg of methamphetamine, 109 kg of cocaine, and four firearms, Singh fled to India. Punjab Police successfully tracked and arrested him in Tarn Taran, demonstrating their commitment to combating drug trafficking and organized crime.
